The magazine specialized in fashion and pattern making is published ten times a year as a turnaround edition with topics on women’s and men’s fashion. The magazine is available for download in English. Each issue of M. Müller & Sohn magazine contains an enclosed sewing pattern.
On the women’s fashion pages, you will find nostalgic hippie looks with light, flowing maxi dresses, airy blouses and colourful prints that make you long for summer. Embellishments such as embroidery, tassels and fringes typical of the look lend the models their artisanal appeal. Next, we show you how to model a jacket with draped sleeves. In the patternmaking section you will find instructions for culottes and T-shirts – especially with the former it is important to work to the millimetre. To go with our pattern sheet which this month includes four different swimsuits for women, we talk to an expert in swimwear fabrics.
On the menswear pages we show you THE summer trend for 2021: the shorts. Having conquered the gym and beach holidays, shorts are now taking over the catwalks and in some cases are even becoming office-appropriate In the pattern technique we pick up on the trend and show you how to construct and grade different short variations. Read our interview with Kathrin Emmer, a men’s bespoke tailor, to find out how she is getting her Potsdam studio through the pandemic with the help of a steady customer base.
