M. Müller & Sohn Magazine 12.2021
Professional Magazine for Fashion and Pattern Making // Daniela Paradeis // Jackets // Rococo in bright colours // Plush processing // Poison that gets under your skinDeutsch
The magazine specialized in fashion and pattern making is published ten times a year as a turnaround edition with topics on women’s and men’s fashion. The magazine is available for download in English. Each issue of M. Müller & Sohn magazine contains an enclosed sewing pattern.
On the women’s fashion pages there is an opulent mix of exciting themes at the end of the year. The rococo costumes of the new production of The Barber of Seville at the Vienna State Opera inspire with a huge colour spectacle. Also in Vienna are the lingerie creations of expert Daniela Paradeis, who explains to us in an interview that, in her opinion, our well-being depends very much on what we wear »underneath«. For the »underneath« we have prepared three jacket models for you in the pattern technique that will keep you warm throughout the cold months, with pleat detail at the back, with underarm wedge, or in egg-shape. On the runway, flaps dominate the garments, with the more transparent models being eye-catchers – for warmer latitudes.
On the menswear pages we present the opulent costumes from this year’s Oberammergau Passion Play, inspired by the Old Testament. On the runway, it’s less traditional, we are seeing coats with oversized details and coats made of plush. On the same topic, you will also learn what to look out for when working with plush. Breaking with tradition continues with the topic of why haute couture is also becoming increasingly relevant on men’s catwalks. In the pattern technique we explain the grading of raglan blousons and present an asymmetrical oversized jacket with hood. In addition, we show how to correct common fit mistakes in shirt sleeves. In the column »Fashion is political«, author Ronja Ebeling traces the aggressive tanning chemicals that make leather a crime against people and the environment, and she also points out alternatives.
The enclosed pattern contains two buttoned coats for women (in European sizes 36 – 46).
This issue contains 60 pages.
