On the designer look pages of women’s fashion you get a small overview of the impressive creations from the catwalks of the Parisian haute couture shows of the autumn/winter 2023 season. In the following portrait we introduce Nicki Marquardt, a luminary of the milliner craft. We shed light on the special features of her know-how, interview her about her work processes and report on how she herself got into hats and became an award-winning milliner. In the pattern technique we focus on jackets with gussets. Models with sleeve panel gusset, diamond gusset, square separation to the gusset corner and with a side panel kimono are waiting to be constucted. We will then introduce two career changers who, at different ages, have dared to make a career change and complete an apprenticeship in bespoke tailoring. What does it take for a career change to be successful? Is a love of the craft enough? We have compiled the answers for you. You can then read about the company Browzwear with its 3D programme VStitcher and what goals the company is pursuing with its 3D clothing design software.
On the Designer Look pages of men´s fashion, we show the latest coats for the upcoming season. Then we talk to the Winkler family from Kreuth at Lake Tegern about the recipe for success of their family business, which has existed for 120 years, and what makes the traditional tailoring business and its traditional costumes special. In the pattern technique you will find three one-piece models. Besides a business overall with double-breasted collar and lapel, you will also find a zipped model with patch pockets and raglan sleeves, as well as a overall with concealed button placket, shirt fly and cuff among the instructions. We also took a look at what’s been going on at Munich Fabric Start to keep ourselves well informed in the areas of fabrics, colours and trends. You will find the report in the magazine.
The enclosed pattern contains four flared trousers in European sizes 36 – 50).
