The magazine specialized in fashion and pattern making is published six times a year as a turnaround edition with topics on women’s and men’s fashion. The magazine is available for download in English. Each issue of M. Müller & Sohn magazine contains an enclosed sewing pattern.

On the women’s fashion designer look pages, we present catwalk looks with extravagant sleeves. Avant-garde designs with sculptural volume or flowing shapes provide inspiration for new designs. On the subject of inclusion in fashion: Josephine Schreiber, who shows impressive creativity despite her deafness and aphantasia, provides insights into her career. She is the first winner of the ‘Innovationspreis Modeschaffendes Handwerk’.

Traditional tailoring often stands apart from digitalisation. Korinna Bennecker has modernised her Frankfurt men’s bespoke tailoring studio with free tools and made work processes more efficient. You can read how she managed this from page 10 onwards.

In the pattern technique section, we look at the topic of corduroy trousers. We present a basic pattern block and two modern corduroy trousers styles that impress with their sophisticated details. The focus is on creative waistband solutions and unusual cut details at the hem. Finally, we provide practical tips on processing corduroy fabrics to ensure that the cutting and sewing projects are a perfect success. Our finishing section also includes an article on sleeve supports, because the most beautiful sleeve is only a pleasure to wear if it is finished correctly.

We have a lot planned for the growth of our technical college in 2025 in order to meet the great interest in our seminars even better. You can find out exactly what you can look forward to in our article on page 28, where you will also find personal statements from our students about their experiences with our educational programmes as well as current seminar dates.

The latest jacket designs can be found on the menswear designer look pages: field jackets, biker and denim jackets as well as soft blousons and bombers are indispensable this season.

A career in tailoring or fashion design requires passion and a willingness to learn. Lorenzo and Massimo Cifonelli show that there is still a great deal of personal commitment behind their famous Parisian atelier. Every year, the fashion industry eagerly awaits the PANTONE® colour of the year. For 2025, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse was chosen – a warm, sensual brown colour that is presented in a mood board on page 12.

In the pattern technique section, we show nine different back variations based on the basic jacket block, which provide variety and give the garment a sporty, elegant or classic touch, depending on the model.

Italian weavers such as ‘Vitale Barberis Canonico’ remain leaders when it comes to fine suit fabrics. Bernhard Roetzel visited the traditional weaving mill in Italy. Read the article on page 24. The ‘Zaubernadel’ studio in Bad Saarow became an unexpected success. Owner Thomas Borgmann-Hartmann reports on his career and his commitment to the textile trade, as well as the founding of a new association in Brandenburg.

We also talk to young designer Julian Prohaska. He shares his plans and dreams at the start of his career and shows that he is ambitious to reach the top.

The enclosed pattern contains nursing clothing for women (in European sizes 36 – 50).
