M. Müller & Sohn Magazine 03-04.2025
Professional Magazine for Fashion and Pattern Making // Corsage Wedding Dresses // Equestrian Apparel for Men // Young Tailor Competition »Herrenschneider« // Pattern Bridesmaid DressesDeutsch
The magazine specialized in fashion and pattern making is published six times a year as a turnaround edition with topics on women’s and men’s fashion. The magazine is available for download in English. Each issue of M. Müller & Sohn magazine contains an enclosed sewing pattern.
On the women’s fashion designer look pages, we present otherworldly beauty and craftsmanship from the catwalks of the haute couture shows in Paris – artistic dress creations from fairytale Sleeping Beauty dresses to bizarre, theatrical stage costumes.
In keeping with this, we then introduce the maestro of the bizarre, Rebar Aziz. The young fashion design up-and-comer’s designs are anything but restrained. Lace, shoulder constructions that reach high into the sky and shapes that look as if they have been inflated immediately catch the eye. But the eccentricity of his designs alone is not the secret of his great success. We are allowed to take a look behind the scenes of his studio and gain fascinating insights into his creative work.
In the pattern technique section, we show pattern constructions for three mix-and-match corsage wedding dresses – enchanting ensembles consisting of a corsage and skirt. The simple skirt models put the details of the corsages centre stage and allow individual combinations for a unique look.
In collaboration with the venerable Maisons d’Arts from the Parisian craft centre Le 19M, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac designed the liturgical vestments for the festivities for the reopening of Notre-Dame in December 2024. We shed light on the details of this exciting collaboration on page 30.
The menswear designer look pages are all about the collar. Small details with a big effect: the design of the collar point and the angle are decisive for the overall look. You can see elongated points à la patricide, rounded versions, piped, edged, embroidered or twisted.
This is followed by a look at one of the most sought-after men’s tailors of his time: Luca Rubinacci. As Creative Director of the legendary house of Mariano Rubinacci, he not only inspired his customers with his style and charisma, but also hundreds of thousands of followers on Instagram. In our portrait, we go in search of the secret to the success of this extraordinary bespoke tailoring family.
We continue with another traditional craft business: the Berlin bust factory can look back on almost 100 years of history. Denny Hahnfeldt has been the new owner and managing director since the beginning of last year. In this interview, we look back together on an eventful first year and gain an insight into how the company is cautiously venturing into the modern age.
In the men’s pattern section of this issue, we show the pattern construction of a pair of riding breeches, a riding polo and a riding shirt. You will also find an elaboration of a shirt cut. We also explain which cutting features and finishing details are particularly important for riding clothing.
The nationwide young talent competition organised by the association ‘Die Herrenschneider’ in Frankfurt am Main promotes young bespoke tailors by giving them the opportunity to demonstrate their craftsmanship and network with industry experts. We provide all the important details in this issue.
Our insights on the 107th Pitti Immagine Uomo take us back to Italy. We highlight the special features of the shows by style-defining guest designers MM6 Maison Martin Margiela and the Setchu brand and show how Pitti stages fashion as an expression of the zeitgeist.
The enclosed pattern contains bridesmaid dresses (in European sizes 36 – 50).
