M. Müller & Sohn Magazine 04.2022
Professional Magazine for Fashion and Pattern Making // corset clasps // Plus size jackets // Dr. Julia Danckwerth // The gold of Normandy // Maximilian MoggDeutsch
The magazine specialized in fashion and pattern making is published ten times a year as a turnaround edition with topics on women’s and men’s fashion. The magazine is available for download in English. Each issue of M. Müller & Sohn magazine contains an enclosed sewing pattern.
On the women’s fashion pages, this issue is all about different aspects of the desire for attention: spring brings it with light and colour and the look-at-me! colour pink dominates the catwalks! In the patternmaking section we celebrate diversity, and that body shapes have long ceased to conform to just one ideal image by showing you two detailed transitional jackets for large sizes and how the best possible fit can already be achieved when constructing the pattern. Diversity and the best possible fit are also the focus of »Thera Tex«, a project founded by Dr. Julia Danckwerth at the interface of technology and textiles, which looks at how particularly smart clothing can help people with hemiplegia. We found out why vocational schools currently also have to fight for attention in a conversation with Tabea Ziemons, the head of the vocational college in Halle.
The menswear pages are about the jacket! On the catwalks in Paris and Milan we see extravagant designs, the blurring of gender boundaries, and the play with the lapel collar makes the jacket an exciting companion of the season. We introduce the young Berlin entrepreneur Maximilian Mogg, who, as a bold autodidact designer, sells bespoke suits via Instagram and is thus successfully tapping into a new clientele. In addition to the well-known quality, the excellent ecological footprint is also making linen fibre increasingly popular. We talked to the French linen manufacturer Hellard about where it is grown and processed, and what makes linen fabric attractive and fit for the future. In the patternmaking section we show you the basic block, a design pattern, and the grading of a pair of (knee) breeches.
The enclosed pattern contains two Longblouses for women (in European sizes 36 – 50).
This issue contains 60 pages.
