And yet the problems in making a high-quality garment are so varied that minor or major defects are often unavoidable. Here we use the example of a pair of trousers to show how faults can be corrected and the fit optimised. In the trousers shown, there is too much length in the seat area, causing unsightly creases in the crotch and seat of the trousers.
